Thomas Dunn Learning Center HiSETBasics

What is HiSET?

–         HiSET stands for High School Equivalency Test. Itis the test chosen by the State of Missouri to allow adults to earn their high schooldiploma. It is similar to the GED, which is used in other states.

Who can be in HiSET?

–         Those not enrolled or graduated from high school

–         Those at least 16 years old

–         Residents of Missouri

How much does itcost?

–         Instruction at TDLC is always FREE.

–         There is a fee for the exam, however Thomas DunnLearning Center offers scholarships to cover testing fees for those who stay inprogram and continue to progress.

How do I start?

–         Register by meeting with Director of Education

–         Schedule and take two assessment tests

–         Plan individual study timeline for success with theDirector of Education

o  Most students need to come two to three times aweek for a couple of hours to make consistent progress

What else do I needto know?

–         Thomas Dunn Learning Center provides workbooks,reference books, and online resources for onsite use.

–         The HiSET Director is available onsite: Mondays10:00 am – 2:00 pm; Wednesday 10:00 am – 8:00 pm; and Thursday  12:00 – 8:00 pm
