Thomas Dunn Learning Center HiSET Basics

What is HiSET?

– HiSET stands for High School Equivalency Test. Itis the test chosen by the State of Missouri to allow adults to earn their high school diplomas. It is similar to the GED, which is used in other states.

Who can be in HiSET?

– Those not enrolled or graduated from high school

– Those at least 16 years old

– Residents of Missouri

How much does it cost?

– Instruction at TDLC is always FREE.

– There is a fee for the exam, however Thomas DunnLearning Center offers scholarships to cover testing fees for those who stay in the program and continue to progress.

How do I start?

– Register by meeting with Caylen Vinson, who can be contacted at Caylen@tdunn.org or by calling 353-3050.

– Schedule and take two assessment tests

– Plan an individual study timeline for success.

o Most students need to come two to three times a week for a couple of hours to make consistent progress

What else do I need to know?

– Thomas Dunn Learning Center provides workbooks, reference books, and online resources for onsite use.
